0 Praise for Cardiff City's Adam Matthews

CARDIFF West MP, Kevin Brennan, has been promoting the benefits of apprenticeships with Cardiff City's young football star Adam Matthews at 10 Downing St.

Matthews, aged 17, has been on Cardiff City's book since he was eight years old and as an apprentice at the club has been setting the Championship alight with his recent performances.

"As the Minister for Apprenticeships it's always great when you can hold up a shining example from your own constituency," said Mr Brennan.

"Adam did a wonderful job in giving a speech on behalf of the Football League apprenticeship scheme in front of Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

"He emphasized the importance of training and education going hand in hand and I think that is vitally important.

"I think Adam proves to companies and businesses everywhere that apprenticeships are ideal in helping people gain experience with an education in order to fit the needs of a particular organisation, in this case Cardiff City Football Club.

"I know Gordon Brown was very impressed by Adam and I hope he continues to have great success with Cardiff City Football Club and hopefully help them return to the highest tier of British Football."
