KEVIN Brennan has commended two social enterprise organisations in Cardiff West for making the shortlist of the South Wales Business Awards 2010.
Mr Brennan has visited both Riverside Community Market and Pedal Power over the past year and says they are two fantastic organisations that deserve all the recognition they are receiving.
"I am delighted to learn that the Riverside Community Market Association (RCMA) and Pedal Power have both been nominated for the South Wales Business Awards 2010," said Mr Brennan.
"As a former Minister for the Third Sector I know what a vital role Social Enterprise projects can play in our communities and these two organisations have served Cardiff as a whole fantastically well for a number of years.
"Pedal Power has proved to be a great success in helping to get people of all ages and levels of mobility active through cycling.
"They have some dedicated volunteers and a whole range of specialist bikes to allow people with mobility problems to cycle through one of the city's best parks.
"Likewise Riverside Community Market has been an integral part of people's lives in Cardiff West for over a decade.
"It provides some of the best local produce and provides a fantastic opportunity for people to sample some of the best Welsh fresh food and long may it continue.
"I wish both organisations the best of luck and will be supporting both of them in the competition."
