THE Shadow Minister for Consumer Affairs, Kevin Brennan MP, has demanded an inquiry after a newspaper investigation found players buying lottery tickets in 3,000 outlets had a much smaller chance of winning.
The investigation found players buying £1 Thunderball tickets in some of these outlets were not able to chose from all the numbers after Camelot made small changes to the game.
These shops were using old Thunderball forms which only allowed customers to select numbers between 1to 34 instead of the new forms which allow customers to select numbers from 1 to 39.
Shadow Consumer Minister Kevin Brennan has demanded an inquiry and called for all shops using the old forms to offer compensation for players.
"Consumers should be compensated for the tickets they bought that didn't win or they should be given the opportunity to have free tickets to have a valid entry," Said Kevin.
"Camelot need to put things right. They must find out what has gone wrong and ensure that it doesn’t happen again."
