LOCAL MP, Kevin Brennan, has welcomed the international opportunities the British Council has created in Cardiff West for a wide variety of organisations and schools.
The organisations include the North Ely Youth Centre, the National Youth Centre, Sports Council Wales, Peartree Languages and a whole host of other organisations which can be found here.
In 2010-11 the British Council worked with over 9480 UK organisations on 183 initiatives, involving a total of 167 different countries.
"The British Council does a good job in creating international opportunities for people in Cardiff West," said Kevin.
"Most of the schools in the area have benefitted from the British Council's connecting classrooms scheme which enables pupils to learn with children in other countries.
"The aim of these schemes is to try and equip young people in the UK for life in a global society and work in a global economy.
"It's pleasing to see the work they are doing in Cardiff West and I hope it will continue in the future."
