The deadline is fast approaching and Mr Brennan believes the money could be a valuable resource for some community groups to provide extra facilities.
"I do think the council needs to invest more in young people's provisions but this could still be a vital source of funding for some local community groups.
"I would urge any group in Cardiff West that provides open access play for 5-15 year olds to apply for this funding.
"It doesn't cost anything and so it would certainly be worth five minutes of time to fill in the application form.
