Kevin's role as an MP means he sits in parliament at Westminster and acts for Cardiff West's and Labour's interests in a national context.

Rhodri's role as an Assembly Member and First Minister for the Welsh Assembly Government means his duties are focused on Welsh national interests such as health, education, the environment and Welsh business.

Although some of their areas of duty do cross over, they can only vote in their respective governments. Although they have a lot of contact and share an office, their duty and jobs are very different, and their responsibility to the Cardiff West constituents is very different, but they both have the same aim in bringing the best service to the communities that elected them.
