Stop ticket touts and re-sellers putting huge markup prices on tickets

Kevin Brennan, the Shadow Minister for Arts and Heritage, wants to put a stop to ticket touts and re-sellers selling gig, entertainment and sports tickets at huge markup prices.

The problem is made far worse by 'bots' or 'botnets' which is software which allows touts to purchase tickets at large volumes from websites, which stops ordinary fans purchasing them.

The 'Stop the ticket rip off' campaign was launched with Shadow Culture Minister, Tom Watson MP, the FanFair Alliance and Sharon Hodgson MP (Chair of the APPG on ticket abuse).

There were also MPs from different political parties as well as figures from the entertainment industry. They all met outside parliament, where they called on the Government to take urgent action on the UK's broken secondary ticketing market.

A petition has been setup on Tom Watson's website in order to lobby the Government to take action. You can sign it by clicking here.
