Kevin spoke to about 20 local residents a the Carriage Hall in the new Stable Block of Insole Court.
"When roads are close to schools it's important pedestrian safety comes first," said Kevin after the meeting.
"In Canton I've been working with local councillors to get the council to bring in 20mph zones in certain areas.
"If these zones in Canton prove to be successful then I would like to see them rolled out across the city."
