WalesOnline: Huge objections to more homes being built in city suburb

There has been huge objections to plans for new homes in a city suburb.

Taff Housing Association want to built 36 affordable homes at De Clare Drive in Radyr , Cardiff.

The development would see a mix of accommodation, with four two-bedroom adapted flats, 18 one-bedroom flats, six two-bedroom flats and eight three-bedroom houses.

They would be built in an “L shaped” blocks and face the existing park.

The development would also include 34 parking spaces.

Mark Drakeford AM and Kevin Brennan MP have also written on behalf of their constituents.

Council planning officers have recommended the scheme for approval saying that it would mean a brownfield site is used for affordable housing.

Subject to conditions being met, councillors are recommended to approve the plans when they meet on Wednesday.
